Hello wonderful people,

In the narrative of my story, the POV character -- Sarah Jane, in case that makes a difference -- refers to a date, like so: "Today was April 23rd." Would she say April 23rd, or 23rd April?

It's not actually dialogue, but it's a description of what she's thinking, so it's similar to dialogue.

My character is a student at Oxford, and is around 20-years-old. He's British by birth with a Spanish mother and is bilingual. He tells an older man that a certain Spanish endearment is very old-fashioned, and offers to teach him some others that are cooler or more hip ( Read more... )

I have a story where a teenage girl insults another girl because the latter has misinterpreted things - badly. What kinds of insults would a teenager in the early to mid 60s use? What's the range of severity? Are there certain slang words that she would use? How important would word choice be in dishing out the harshest insult for a stupid

The small handheld radio: is it called walkie-talkie in the UK? Or something else? Just radio?

You know like the small radio Amy's talking on in "The Eleventh Hour"...make sense?

What might a teenaged male call another boy he considers a sissy? I need a term that's been around for a while; a character in his late 30s/early 40s is recalling something from his school days to explain why he hates rugby. In this case, the more offensive, the better....
